I’m reading about the anti-ICE riots in LA today. Disgusting. “No one is above the law,” they say. No one, except MS-13 and other “undocumented” immigrant gangbangers, gangbanger ally Mayor Karen Bass, the LA police department, members of SEIU, deluded students, professional partisan activists, and other people who assume that the “nobility” of their cause exempts them from silly little things like laws.

Trump to Send National Guard to L.A. to Quell Immigration Protests ~ NYT

This is a test.

The Trump administration gets closer to using the military to crush civilian dissent.

LA burns and then it burns again. Heil Bass!

Kaki chooses to ally himself with gangbangers and rioters. When the police can not — or will not — maintain order then National Guard troops are a perfectly reasonable response. I see little difference between Eisenhower’s use of the Guard to enforce racial integration and Trump’s use to enforce our laws regarding legal and illegal immigration and deportation of non-citizen criminals.

The rioters are not protesters peacefully engaged in their First Amendment rights to free speech. They are engaged in violent riots and must be dealt with.

Jake Tapper’s Original Sin is heading down the best seller list. Now at #12. Never unseated Oh,The Places You’ll Go by Dr Seuss which must be the #1 graduation gift because this time of year it zooms up the best seller list. But you know what book did unseat Dr Seuss? Clinton and Patterson’s new thriller The First Gentleman, now at #2. Great reviews: “Bill Clinton reveals key White House details in murderous new political thriller… It's a twisty thriller with plenty of inside jobs (reviewer choice of words a bit too obvious), political sabotage and many, many deaths.”
It’s about a former NFL star, spouse of the President (female - sorry LGBT community) suspected of murder. Of course, we know, if the leader of the free world is based on a certain former First Lady/Presidential candidate - then she did it. Wouldn’t it be fabulous if that was the plot twist?
Awaiting - and it’s going to be a long wait - Michelle Obama’s new book The Look. Publishing date November 4 2025. Fifty bucks and already it’s at #217. Fashion photos of the former First Lady.
Melania is still holding her own at #622 - discounted to $19.08 (but, hey, #1 in Emigrants and Immigrants Biographies - Amazon has a million lists).

“Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen…”

So the CA State National Guard is being nationalized?
It’d be helpful to know the legal authority invoked in the memorandum.

Got that, Whitey? You don't need to cheer for Ms. Gauff when she's representing our nation at international events.

Because she's only proud to represent people who look like her.

Consider it done, racist.

This week Trump will deploy troops in California and roll Army tanks and artillery through the streets of the US Capital.

Weird how he called up the National Guard today to CA but couldn't on J6? Then he blamed Nancy Pelosi. What changed?

He realized that the Democrats were correct. So, he's now using Troops to quell an insurrection. Of course, you agree.

"The Insurrection Act of 1807 is the U.S. federal law that empowers the president of the United States to nationally deploy the U.S. military and to federalize the National Guard units of the individual states in specific circumstances, such as the suppression of civil disorder, of insurrection" --AI Claude

Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson all used it.

"The last four administrations have sent National Guard units to the southern border, where they serve alongside troops deployed there under state control."

Got that, shitbird?

The Jan 6 riots had not yet occurred when Trump requested Guard Troops, and both Bowser and Milley rejected his request.

The CA riots happened right before our eyes, yesterday.

I'm sure you are too STUPID to recognize the difference.

Not only the National Guard. There are numerous reports on Twitter that the Marines at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County are on high alert, ready to back up the National Guard if they need help. Which reminds me: didn't they help put down the Rodney King riots?

So strange. I just checked on Melania again and, in the past half hour, the price has jumped from $19.08 to $22.68
Anyway, just wanted to mention - there’s a new bio of William F Buckley.
“Ten years before his death in 2008, Buckley chose prize-winning biographer Sam Tanenhaus to tell the full, uncensored story of his life and times, granting him extensive interviews and exclusive access to his most private papers . . . Tanenhaus also has uncovered the darker trail of Bill Buckley’s secret exploits, including CIA missions in Latin America, dark collusions with Watergate felon Howard Hunt, and Buckley’s struggle in his last years to hold together a movement coming apart over the AIDS epidemic, culture wars, and the invasion of Iraq—even as his own media empire was unraveling.”
Tanenhaus is an antiTrumper so we kind of know what the tenor of this biography is. I’m not so sure Buckley would have been an antiTrumper. Personally, I don’t think he would have approved of the NeverTrump issue.

I believe that what we are seeing is the ultimate reason the Democrats worked so feverishly to import millions of military age men. Our cities are full of them now. And I suspect we're going to see them in action, attacking our ICE and National Guard troops, looting, burning, and rioting. This is planned, funded, and openly supported insurrection by the Democrats using imported surrogate insurrectionists.

Another illegal and Unconstitutional fukup by trump admin and DOGE and Judge blasts them for it. Musk is a jerk and all he did was create havoc and didnt save SH%T A federal judge on Monday ruled that the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) takeover of the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) was unlawful, deeming it “null and void.”
U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell found that President Trump and his subordinates used “brute force” to take over USIP’s headquarters and dissemble the independent institute, despite warnings that it did not fall within the executive branch.
The judge invalidated the removal of USIP board members and its president, meaning they retain their positions and the individuals installed by DOGE must be removed, and nullified the transfer of USIP’s headquarters to the General Services Administration (GSA), returning control to the USIP. Any USIP financial assets transferred to the GSA were also deemed void.
She also barred DOGE and other Trump administration officials named in the suit from further “trespass” on USIP’s property or within its systems.
“The President’s efforts here to take over an organization outside of those bounds, contrary to statute established by Congress and by acts of force and threat using local and federal law enforcement officers, represented a gross usurpation of power and a way of conducting government affairs that unnecessarily traumatized the committed leadership and employees of USIP, who deserved better,” the judge wrote in a 102-page opinion. TRUMP HAS LOST SO MANY LAW CASES cant even keep track of his lawlessness and fukups and now like a spoiled kid fighting with the guy his just gave the Golden Key to.What a bunch......

The grand jury probe by the Feds originated from when the Tennessee Highway Patrol allegedly pulled over Kilmar Abrego Garcia in late 2022 for speeding. The van was supposedly chock full of passengers without luggage, prompting questions from the officer on-site, according to a video of the stop. The indictment further alleges that Abrego Garcia said to authorities that he said he was transporting construction workers to Missouri, but in reality he was transporting undocumented migrants.

However, our famous immigrant has never been investigated or convicted nor does he have criminal encounters with police, so what is all this bullshit? My guess is that Bondi needed a Grand Jury charge to get him out of El Salvador, so she dreamed this up while eating a ham sandwich.

After protestors beat and caused the death and injury to the enforcement officers in DC on January 6 during Trump's attempted putsch, while prosecuted participants were granted pardons by our disloyal president. Now he is deliberately harming and punishing then arresting protesters in LA while encouraging violence by ICE agents.

More thoughts on moderation...

None of us are perfect, and so when we fight, each side is probably right about something. Pro-lifers are right that human life is sacred, and we shouldn't kill our children. Pro-choice people are right in that rape is a real concern.

So the way you deal with that issue is by addressing both sides. You take infanticide off the table by applying our death statutes to abortion doctors, and making it a crime for them to kill children. And you try to resolve the rape issue by recognizing that Plan B is not an abortion, let alone a homicide. I think Plan B is a godsend for rape victims. We should have emergency contraception in every hospital.

So that's a good thing, hearing your opponents and trying to respond to their arguments.

What's bad about moderation is how glib it can be.

"We'll take conception and birth and split the difference -- you can abort up until four and a half months."

Moderates glibly try to please everybody and they please nobody. And they don't really give a shit. They just like the power.

Watched the CNN live broadcast of Good Night and Good Luck last night. Overall not as horrible as I feared.

Clooney was kind of wooden. But so was the real Murrow. So were most American men of that time, doing Greatest Generation performative maleness. So who knows.

Surprised by Ilana Glazer playing a (historical) CBS staffer who had to hide being married to another staffer because of the company's work rules at the time. She didn't have that much to do, but she did it well.

The guy who plays a SHIELD agent in the Marvel films played a CBS anchor who killed himself under the pressure of McCarthyism. Didn't impress me. Takes a lot to break out of a typecast, I guess.

The script had some glimpses of reason: "what if we turn out to be wrong?" "what if the next journalist to do this isn't Edward R. Murrow?" So that's nice.

But of course CNN surrounded the play with pre- and post-shows to make sure you got the right message from it. Lots of references to Trump. No references, even by the token conservative on the panel, to the many Commies that McCarthy correctly identified. No references to deep-state and Biden-era censorship of social media. A little bit of thoughtful discussion of whether the journalistic model has forever shifted back to advocacy, and whether that's good.

So not a total waste of time.

The Trump-Musk feud is staged like a rassling match. Recall that years ago Trump was active in WWE.

Trump is the “face” or good guy.

The point of this fake dispute is to get the Senate to improve the BBB and Trump doesn’t have to be the critic of the House bill.

I'm not following this drama, but it sounds like there ought to be more to it. Why should I have a problem with her saying this? Should she not be proud of winning, or of being black? Should she be ashamed instead? It looks like there was a bit of poor sportsmanship from the losers, is that what drove the comments?

The only thing that would bother me, would be if a white player said the same thing as a Trump supporter, and got castigated for it. See? I'm happy to extend the courtesy, but it has to be reciprocated, because that's how it works.

I don't think Coco is a racist at all. From Wikipedia...

Gauff is a Christian. Since she was eight years old, she has prayed with her father before every match that she and her opponent would be safe. After winning the Cincinnati Open in August 2023, she said: "... I'd like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I spent a lot of nights alone, crying trying to figure it out. I still have a lot to figure out, but I thank Him for covering me." After winning her first major title in September 2023, she said: "... I don't pray for results, I just ask that I get the strength to give it my all and whatever happens, happens. I'm so blessed in this life."

Of course he woudnt tell trump about his 1.5 year mission on destroying the Russian old time bombers,he is not stupid and knows the guy blabs al over the place .Ukraine launched a massive drone attack deep inside Russia on Sunday, destroying over 40 Russian military planes, including strategic bombers. The drones also targeted five Russian air bases. The whole operation took more than 1.5 years to plan and was personally supervised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to a report by CBS News.
The attack was carried out by Ukraine’s security service using drones launched from trucks parked secretly near the Russian air bases. Some of those trucks were even parked in Siberia, which is thousands of miles from Ukraine. Ukraine did not tell the Trump administration about the plan before the attack, as per Axios report.
Even though Trump is the U.S. President again, he was kept in the dark about this major strike. After the attack, Zelensky said he would send a Ukrainian team led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to Istanbul for ceasefire talks with Russia. During his second term, Trump has been trying to end the Russia-Ukraine war, which has now gone on for three years.
Zelenski is a warrior trump is a loose lipped bafoon who thinks Putin likes him.
